Watermark is not working for password protected files

I have an issue with watermark which is embedded as an overlay in pdf. Though it renders fine in nomal pdfs but for password protected pdfs , the watermark is lost on opening. Can you please suggest if I can make it work or will it be available in future releases
The watermark on opening password protected pdfs does not show but it works for normal pdfs
