Add ideas for future projects here!

web Paint

Browser notifications!

@tarla @PatD sounds good! I'll add them to the future list and will send out an email once it's done :)

News Aggregator?

Search Aggregator?

Video diary ?

Weather App?

An AI in a Chrome Extension that learns your interests from your browsing history, keeps crawling the web and whenever something, which is highly interesting for you, gets posted on the Internet it summarizes it and put in a notification on your smart watch, the moment you are in a line or not moving. For the last part I would suggest the Google Awareness API.

@aymenbelarbi Your idea sounds awesome, I'd love a Chrome Extension like that.

Future project idea: A random font generator for designers. Something similar to the Chrome Extension - Palettab

Also, the ability to see and copy the HEX code to your clipboard would be rad for the Hex Color Generator!

@julianorafael Weather tutorial is almost done! Most probably will be out tonight :)

@aymenbelarbi very interesting idea.. there will def be a chrome extension tuorialt. I will work on it- it's added to the README

@carmaHowlett Yes, I will pursue that idea very soon.

The font generator sounds interesting. As far as the hex code copying, there's a library for that! it's called clipboard.js

I will be adding a tutorial for the calculator app I developed. It'll take time since final exams week is coming up but I'm sure I'll be able to contribute it within the next few weeks.

@aymenbelarbi Can AI be done in the browser?

A simple PWA with features like add to home screen, splash screen, offline, push notifications, background sync etc

I think you should have a wikipedia viewer

@harsh183 I experimented with this -- https://wiki.shamdasani.org
feel free to check out the source code!

@maitreyav Progressive Web App? Have you used Google Polymer? And yes, push notifications will be coming soon :)

@samayshamdasani Wow! Looks great. I think the styling of the search results can be improved, but otherwise, it's great.

As for the styling

  • The blue and pink boxes don't look good and modern, consider changing how the boxes look.
  • When I hover the text over the boxes, it gets italic, which gives an unpleasant effect as text width changes.

Also for the article view,

  • Looks quite good, but consider changing the search bar placeholder text to 'I also want to learn' because it's not immediately obvious to users.

But great job, I am quite impressed!

@samayshamdasani Also, do you have any plans of having backend projects. I can try putting a few Ruby on Rails tutorials if you think is a good idea.

@harsh183 sounds awesome!

A flappy bird game.

I am interested in contributing to this project, but is it still active?

Interactive coding? You could take ideas from the tutorial on the html, css, js tutorial, but I'm not sure how code checking would work. Also you'll have to be careful about making sure that people are learning and not just copying

IDEAs Platform

Setting desirable previews for links is one of the most important things on the web at this era.
check dailydotdev/daily#7

You are making a very useful Platform here. I see too much potential.
I also feel like you think the way I do. You are making very useful blocks of puzzle which will make the most brilliant Arts of pragmatism.
Chat with me if you do so. I have good pieces of puzzle. >:D

@ninja542 That's one of my long term goals, but right now it would simply cost so much for servers and I'm not sure how the site would protect users from running malicious code :/

@Ornataweaver Thank you! I'd be glad to chat. Would you be interested in contributing some tutorials?

I like that you keep it simple, so I disagree with having interactive code as @ninja542 says to some degree.
As for having servers you can use ZeroNet technology, which makes torrent sites called zites; The more viewers you have the smoother it gets!
As for security the code will be run on user side, you won't have to worry about it.

I definitely would like to contribute as much as I'm capable. Do you have a gitter channel?

I found you, it has started 💃 https://gitter.im/tryenlight/enlight
