I use rsnapshot to back up multiple computers via autofs nfs mounts. If one of these machines is off or suffering network problems, its directory cannot be mounted. rsnapshot dies with:

ERROR: backup /desktops/cpu1_home/ cpu1/home/ - Source directory "/desktops/cpu1_home/" doesn't exist

leaving the rest of the computers not backed up.

It would be nice if rsnapshot encounters this problem, an attempt to sync the directory is not made, and the old version of the directory is carried over to the new snapshot.
