I realize this requires git as a dependency, but this would become my favorite extension.

I can find no other extension that does this.

  1. Select project
  2. Right click and select "clone & open"
  3. Explorer prompt for location to clone
  4. Extension clones repository, and open the cloned folder in vs-code
