Nodes not in Ready state - Openshift v3.9.43

Hi.
We have an Openshift environment version 3.9.43 (SemVersion 0.11.3), which gets its storage from a ScaleIO environment with rexray as a storage orchestrator.
A few days ago, our SIO gateway server crashed, and pods were unable to mount their volumes.
As a result, nodes in our cluster went into NotReady state.
This occurrence does not happen when, for example, an NFS doesn't mount to a pod correctly.
Is this a rexray bug/feature?
We know very well that our Openshift version and Rexray version are pretty outdated, and working on updating them.
Our cluster is on premise, so pulling out logs I pretty difficult, but possible. I'd love to avoid it if possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
