After merging document, the second document contests didn't get added to the merged

I know this will be hard to reproduce because it doesn't happen often. I only happened once. It there is a log file, tell me now, so I can upload it here.
I had 5 documents. I selected the the two oldest, the bottom ones, and clicked merge. The oldest had 5 pages and the second document had 2 pages. The second document disappeared, but its contents didn't get added to the merged document.
