Issue connecting to WC from desktop

Describe the bug
When I first click "Wallet Connect" I get a loading spinner that never completes. Closing the modal and clicking Login -> Wallet Connect again I get the QR code. This happens consistently on my 1st attempt after loading the webpage.
Desktop:
- Browser: Brave, Chrome
For Admin Use
- Not duplicate issue
- Appropriate labels and zenhub epics applied
- Appropriate contributors tagged
This is so weird, I can reproduce it on Brave and on Chrome too, but as soon as I try to reproduce it with the dev tools open, I can't reproduce it and it just works as expected! @paul121 @erikalogie could you test with the dev tools open too so I can see if that's a weird thing happening locally or the generic behavior, thanks.
Interesting. I just tried in Brave and still experience the issue with dev tools open.
I also tested with a narrow browser window (the Login button moves to the white top nav) and it is working fine. So it seems to be something about how this is rendered relative to the window size?
Ah - @blushi maybe you have your dev tools open on the left/right not bottom? Just tested that and then this does work, but is likely just because the available window area is smaller.
