Scale seems very strange

Hi,

The scale looks very strange in the app. Also note that, the more North you head, the smaller the scale is: France appears to be already more than 2000km wide (instead of merely 1000 in reality), and the Svalbard islands are almost 10000 km wide (instead of a few hundreds…!).
It looks correct on the Equator though (but only there).

That is a not a very important issue, but that would be great to correct it if that doesn't amount to too much work.
