Define optimal search for a given scan configuration

realfast will see a wide variety of scan configurations, correlator configurations, antenna configurations. We need to be able to calculate from first principles which sections of this parameter space are appropriate and useful to search.
Potential selection criteria:

  • frequencies
  • antenna distribution
  • computational load
  • fringe rate relative to integration time
  • polarization

We need to develop a calculation that takes all these things as input and informs a decision about how to search it. Note that we need this to help decide what data to receive (e.g., take a subset of spectral window/polarization) and how to search it (e.g., ignore long baselines).
