Firefox Extension does not Work on Reader Mode

Firefox extension does not pick up the web page to bookmark when Firefox Reader view is enabled. When the extension save modal is opened I see this, basically it picks up the URL about:reader?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmeinweltbuch.com%2F2023%2F05%2F17%2Froadtrip-baltikum-reisetipps-highlights-und-route-zum-nachmachen-fur-2-wochen%2F.
The highlight feature similarly does not work when I am on the reader view. Weirdly when a highlight is made on the page beforehand it is picked up during the reader mode. So in order to make a highlight you have to switch between the normal webpage and the reader mode, which is pretty inconvenient.
I am not very familiar with the codebase but can help with fixing this issue (at least for for Firefox), if any help needed.
