Stream more than two channels?

I am limited to streaming 2 channels with Opus encoding. I want to stream 6+ channels and avoid sync issues dealing with multiple streams.

Is this feature in the works?

It's been a while since I hacked into Darkice so I'll wait a bit for the opinion of the other authors about the reasons for that limit. But if you need something right now GStreamer can generate a multi channel opus stream just fine.
