Hunter is slower at displaying folder contents and file contents than lf and ranger

In lf and ranger, file and folder contents are loaded even when j or k is held, which is not the case in hunter.
Using hunter-git package from AUR.
System info:
OS: Artix Linux x86_64
CPU: Intel i3-2330M (4) @ 2.200GHz
Memory: 3790MiB
animation=off in config fixed this for me.
