[Firefox 111.0] Permanently delete tabs does not work

I have been using this feature for a long time to keep some kind of sanity to my wife's tab habit. I've set it to 336 hours (2 weeks) after which forgotten tabs should be quietly put to sleep. This used to keep the tab count to around 600-700, but now it's been ballooning, reaching 1992 as I write this.
I don't think auto tab discard is handling such long timeouts or it's not carrying timeout properly between sessions anymore. This used to work okay before.
Same problem on Brave Browser Version 1.49.128 Chromium: 111.0.5563.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)
