Unregisters distro without checking export process for errors

The export proces runs without error checking. Only the existence of the exported file is checked, which is not enough in case of a partial or empty file.

I have pressed [ctrl]-[c] in bash to stop an export that took too long, only to find my distro unregistered and all data lost.
