Describe the bug
- Download the current version of Octicons.
- Open the "Icons" sub-directory in thumbnail view with an appropriate Explorer extension.
- Icons are completely distorted (See image below)
- Try to open any icon in Adobe Illustrator CC.
- Icon doesn't load properly (See image below)
Expected behavior
Icons don't appear distorted in Windows Explorer.
Icons load correctly in Adobe Illustrator.
Device details
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows 10 21H2
Additional info
Running the icons through SVGO makes the icons "work" again. But I don't know if the optimizations made are removing important information. I want to use these icons at small sizes (16px) so precision is important to me. It would be great if you guys could release an official fix.
Hi @visusys, thanks for reporting this bug. At this time our teams are only supporting Figma as a primary design tool and do not have any future plans to support export and usage in other design tools. If you have access to Figma, you can always refer to the Octicons community file and download icons in your preferred format there.
Alright. Thank you for the clarification. It's a bit odd though that you wouldn't support Illustrator at all.
Either way, a SVGO pass solved the issue for me so maybe someone having the same issue might find this thread useful.
Thanks again.
