Device not listed on webpanel

I recently installed Prey on a Oneplus3t and while I can login on web panel (through chrome on mobile phone or desktop), the device is not listed.

Here's what I did (multiple times just to be sure I wasn't missing something...)

  • Installed Prey app from Play Store
  • Open app, see that main message display "unprotected" status
  • Tap on button "give permissions" and then give associated permissions.
  • Device is now displaying status "Protected"

But device is still not listed on web panel. Moreover, there's no way to check what is the account used by application, i guess It's using google account by default? (then the gmail email address), and there's no way as well to change this account.

And when I'm trying to access either webpanel or settings from Prey application, my password is rejected. Any idea on what could be wrong?

I'm having a similar issue. I've got Prey installed on both my Linux laptop and my Android Pixel 3 phone. My phone went bad on me and Google sent me a new Pixel 3 last week. I got everything transferred over, but Prey seemed to still be pointing to my old phone. So I went in to the old phone before sending it back and detached that phone from the Prey account, and then factory reset that phone, and then sent it back to Google. Prey was automatically set up on the new phone from backups, and it says it's protected, but it doesn't show up on the list in either the app or the website. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times (as recommended in the preyproject.org's troubleshooting for this problem), and that's not fixing the problem. The phone's prey app shows all signs that it's protected, but it's just not seen by your system for some reason. I know I'm logged into the correct account, because I can see the Linux laptop is in the devices list on both devices. What's going on?! This has never happened before when transferring it from one phone to another. Could it be because the phones both identified themselves as the same (they're both announce themselves as "Pixel 3") and since I removed the old Pixel 3 your system won't add the new Pixel 3?
