very slow with long files

Preservim is really slow with long files that contain numbers as the first character

For example I have a file made of 5000 lines, and it takes about 2 seconds to enter insert mode.

This happens on windows and on linux, with the latest vim.

I can't post the file for copyright reasons :-(

Thank you for reporting. I had the same issue. Disabling folding fixed poor performance with large Markdown files for me.
