Converting this bot from legacy integration?

I ran into a small bug where the bot name would appear as 'bot' in the mobile app. I got a response from Slack support saying I'm using the legacy bot implementation, and they recommended I convert it. My question is, is it possible to do this fairly easily?
I made the new bot and plugged in the bot API token in the config and my username, but the log says it can't find my username and, I'm not sure if I'm even close to getting this to work, or if Poshbot only works on the legacy bot implementation and would need some substantial code rewrite. Any thoughts?
