Info

  • Device: Huawei Mediapad M5 (model SHT-W09).
  • GSI version: aosp-arm64-ab-vanilla-vndklite-14.0-20240206.
  • Vendor and kernel version: latest stock.

Expected Behavior

First, "fast" offline charging not works. I charge it in 3 hours and 40 minutes, Trebledroid A13 was able to charge in one hour and thirty minutes. The Huawei fast charge option is enabled as usual.

Second, Android security patch seems not updated, Android reports May 2020 patch.

Current Behavior

I dirty flashed your GSI over Trebledroid vanilla A13 vndklite, all works great except for the slow charge speed.

Possible Solution

Now i flashed "android_14.0.0_r27 ci-20240208 - system-td-arm64-ab-vndklite-vanilla.img.xz " and will i try to charge to understand if the issue is in Trebledroid too. I'll update this post soon.

Steps to Reproduce

I simply connect my tablet, while is off, with the original AC adapter to the socket.

Hi all,

strange thing that I also have "Android security update" outdated, but it shows September 5, 2021 in my case.

Can it be somehow related to "underlying" original system layer, as my stock ROM had the same ASU date?

But as I remember I have seen it bumped to the latest in my previous Android 13 GSI images....

My device: CHUWI HiPad Plus with Mediatek MTK8183 CPU
Tested GSI image: aosp-arm64-ab-gapps-14.0-20240206.img

The security patch has nothing to do with the ROM. It's vendor-related. For example, China tablets will never be updated.

That's true, but for reference: in the latest LineageOS 14 GSI release there are two different security patchlevels shown:

  1. Android security update (dated Jan 2024)
  2. Vendor security update (dated Sep 2021 in my case)

Unfortunately I don't have in-depth knowledge of how this is implemented in Treble - GSI architecture and if those patchlevels do cover each other or not, but this kind of representation looks reasonable.

As already said, security patch being shown is related with vendor and not with system as usual on TD GSIs.

The issue is solely related to this GSI.

Is this really true regarding offline charging? Is this not an issue on TD?

finally i tested latest Trebledroid and this is the status of Android patches on my tablet:

On Trebledroid the offline charging is fast as usual from 9% to 100% in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Something needs to be fixed in your rom because the fast charging is a great feature and now it is missing.

Then you need to clean flash my GSI as you did with TD.
I'm not doing anything related with offline charging on my builds.
