Designate a device in layer 3 mesh as "exit node"

How do I make it so a device in a part of a layer 3 VPN network can act as an exit node that routes traffic to 0.0.0.0/0 ::/0
I think it would be a great addition to the documentation, as many people may be looking to do that.
Maybe running a WireGuard server on one of the nodes on the overlay network may work.
