ndctl create namespace failed

joechenrh opened this issue · comments

Previously, I create a namespace using ndctl create-namespace -m devdax -r --region=region0 -s <size> and reconfigure its mode to system-ram mode using daxctl

daxctl reconfigure-device -m system-ram <dax-id>

But I forgot to offline-memory and reconfigure it to devdav mode before I disable and destory this namespace.

and now I can't not create namespace on region0, how to fix this problem? thanks.

[chen@localhost home]$ sudo ndctl create-namespace --mode=devdax --region=region0 -n "redis-aof"
libndctl: ndctl_dax_enable: dax0.0: failed to enable
  Error: namespace0.0: failed to enable

failed to create namespace: No such device or address

ndctl list output nothing but through numactl -H I can find numa node (node2) created by daxctl

Rebooting the host will remove the online system-ram memory and allow you to create new namespaces again.
