Likewise, this would make Atea much more practical for me, since I try to use my keyboard for a lot of mindless housekeeping (especially Quicksilver).
Is there a simple way to allow this through GUI scripting? (e.g. is it possible/"easy" to export a service for "Select Atea Dropdown in the Menu"?)

It would involve extending the native jni library I guess, so it's gonna be a bit more work; but that's something I'd like too, so it's definitely on my todo list - patches are always welcome though.
