Observed behaviour

Game just did not start here is the error message-Failed to set video mode: Could not create GL context: The operation completed successfully.

Expected behaviour - to work?

Therefore, I have got the same issue using Linux.

Note: without an opengl.txt we cannot even begin to attempt to diagnose this issue or provide a fix. Please feel free to re-open the issue with a copy of your output.txt and opengl.txt after attempting to start the latest CI build of Pioneer.

If opengl.txt should have been created at the same place than output.txt: No such file is created at all before the program breaks. I also have not found such a file elsewhere.

Cool. Delete or rename your config.ini and try again - your graphics driver is refusing to create an OpenGL context for the requested video mode, which means either it's particularly picky or you'll have to manually edit config.ini to set the game resolution smaller.

If the issue persists, please create a new issue including your hardware details like GPU make and model, CPU + RAM, and physical screen resolution.

Also this file seems not to exist (where should it be? Not found in any pioneer directory.)

Out of curiosity, please run glxinfo and put the output here wrapped in triple backticks: ```

The only benchmarking information I can find online suggests the Intel Ironlake HD Graphics chip used in your CPU is in fact a significant downgrade from a Radeon HD 5450, and according to a 2023 GpuInfo report did not even support OpenGL 3, which we strictly require to run Pioneer.

As this CPU is 13 years old, we neither officially nor unofficially support running Pioneer on this hardware. You may try setting the window size parameters manually in your config.ini (edit the existing values or replace the entire file with this config):
