correct and normalize documentation

The documentation refers to likes when it should be pinax.likes. Similar mismatches occur throughout. Improve the index page. Convert pages to .MD format.
I'm going to change this into a first-timers-only issue. Thanks @grahamu!
Fixed in #44.
