... because I'd like to link to a few sites from within my site theme.
@benwerd, hope you don't mind me requesting it. I assume just using a version of the favicon would be sufficient...
Of course, I'm not sure if you're just adding protocols and not apps....
Every open project is welcome! Do you or @benwerd have an svg version of the logo?
Nothing to hand... I tried dropping the bitmap into inkscape, which produced a .svg, but I think all it did was embed the bitmap rather than convert it into vectors. Will see if I can recreate it, unless @benwerd has something handy....
The logo is actually going to be changed, for these reasons and more.
(Sorry for replying late, I'm at a conference this week.)

The font is released under the SIL Open Font License. It is a GPL compatible license, so it can be used by WordPress. The license is only for the font files and not for the original icons, so it shouldn't implicate anything (as far as I know).
@benwerd is there a SVG version of the withknown icon that I could/should add?

Just checking that our logo wasn't released under a public domain / CC0 license? We do need to protect our IP.
@benwerd no, don't worry, I should update the license, but actually, I'll just merge font-foss project to this one.
