Paypal EC behaviour - back to the past

If EC module installed and ENABLE_SSL is true in configure.php and the shop site use HTTPS urls then we could see an old style Paypal Page without Credit Card option.
This is not well documented behaviour.
I have seen this behavior to, i just cannot recall the exact situation as i tested many situations.
But when i disabled one - or the - other, things started work normally.
But i cannot explicit say this was due to of EC or another PP module.
--This "can" also be related to the sandbox environment!
-- perhaps in a live setting it shows the new style.
