command line build fails..

Following instructions at https://orientdb.com/docs/3.0.x/tinkerpop3/OrientDB-TinkerPop3.html#gremlin-server

Steps to recreate:
$ git clone https://github.com/orientechnologies/orientdb-gremlin
$ cd orientdb-gremlin
$ git checkout develop
$ mvn clean install

Expected Results: a successful build

Note: I HAVE NOT BUILD THE SERVER... I ONLY NEED THE CONSOLE APP, and the instructions do NOT state a server build is a required pre-requisite.

Actual Results:
$ mvn clean install

reading the docs:
As a pre-requirement, you have to build the same branch for OrientDB core distribution
https://orientdb.com/docs/3.0.x/tinkerpop3/OrientDB-TinkerPop3.html#source-code-installation

Am I missing something?
