Greyscale "glitchy"

So after manually flashing 0.0.40 cause i don't know the ssh upgrade commands (i'd love to know them to make it easier, my fingers are huge for that tiny button!) it seems that while the upgrade was succesful (i initially had greyscale nightmode back) after about an hour or so of constantly switching between pitchblack day mode (cause no light during an overnight print) and greyscale nightmode (with the usual purple hue flash inbetween), greyscale stops working alltogether and finally settles on the normal purple nightmode.

I'd love to know what you need (log wise, if any) to get greyscale stable.
