Recurring Meeting

wesleytodd opened this issue Β· comments

We need to pick a time for a recurring meeting. As we will be announcing the Collab Space officially around the OpenJS World Event, we should shoot for the first one being the week right after. The consensus from the folks on the kick off call was Tuesday morning is the best time. That means the first meeting would be Tuesday June 8th. To make sure we most effectively use our time I propose we start with a monthly cadence to the meetings.

First Meeting (All times PST, more timezones in the links):

Monday June 7th

πŸ‘Ž 8:00 am
πŸš€ 9:00 am
πŸ˜• 10:00 am

Tuesday June 8th (All times PST, more timezones in the links)

πŸ‘€ 8:00 am
πŸŽ‰ 9:00 am
❀️ 10:00 am

Vote for as many times as you can attend. Additionally, once we get a feel for the regular attendance we can re-evaluate and do alternating times if necessary.

@wesleytodd , we should clarify time zone for the above

Updated, I added the links so folks can see in their tx but agree I should have left the explicit call out.

I can't make that particular week, and unfortunately I had to drop from the kickoff call early so I wasn't present for that discussion. Tuesday mornings are a particularly bad time for me (i have the kids tuesday/thursday mornings) and 10AM conflicts with the OpenJS Foundation standards meetings (as well as TC39's monthly decorator calls).

Is there an open TC39 calendar? I did not have that on my calendar. I can add more options, I just started at what I considered the earliest time we could manage. The later we go the worse it is for European folks, so I would hope we can find a time between 7am and 10am pst.

That time range is fine, it's just that a) Tuesdays and Thursdays don't work for me personally (which obv doesn't have to dictate anything for the group) and b) because of that exact timezone conflict, everyone's meetings try to hit that time slot, so it's a crowded space.

I reviewed the votes from the kick off meeting and it also looks like folks can make a Monday meeting. I will add some options for Monday around the same times since that also seems free from conflicting meetings.

And we should also note that this is just for the first meeting, we can have on that agenda a discussion to make sure the time works. We just need this one scheduled so we can announce it on the session.

Hey folks, we are preparing the pre-recorded video for OpenJS world and would like to include a date for the first recurring meeting. Can folks take a look at the times above and get votes in? Thanks!

For some of them we'll need to make sure they don't fall on the same weeks as other Node.js meetings (for example Next-10 meeting is on June 7 at 8 PST).

Hey all πŸ‘‹

Eager to get involved and listen in to the recurring meetings. Is it a matter of joining the weekly call? Is there a Zoom link to use?

Also, tried accessing the Slack link, and seems disabled at the mo?

Thanks @wesleytodd @naugtur for pointing me to this repo!
