Pie chart not visible

On Debian 8 Jessie / Gnome Shell 3.14.4, the pie chart is not visible, but I can see blank space for it. My best guess is that the chart is being rendered as black/black because of some system color scheme / stylesheet instead of using the colors set in the preferences dialog, but i'm not sure how to verify this since I'm very new to gnome extensions.
