Error with PulseAudio
mjsorribas opened this issue · comments
Linux version: Red hat 9 and Alma Linux 9
Console Error when you try open the application:
Testing for explicit PulseAudio choice...
...and PulseAudio has been explicitly chosen, so using it.
I understand this is related with the new Pipewire audio and this can't handle correctly PulseAudio. It's no very clear the issue for me. But I can't set alsa to try another config manually.
The application never start it.Never show any window, only this error if I open with the terminal.
iirc always says that, could you describe the behavior you see? does not start? do you not hear any sound? does it crash the compositor?
@Fuseteam The application never start it.Never show any window, only this error if I open with the terminal.
Can you try the edge channel?
@Fuseteam Yes I tried it with that channel too and I got the same error.
Once again, that error is likely not the cause
Can you run snap info zoom-snap
?
@Fuseteam here is the result

Both stable and edge are returning after those two lines for me on openSUSE Tumbleweed.
There is a file zoom_stdout_stderr.log
which explains the problem. Maybe others encountering this can take a look at this file to understand what is going wrong.

It is odd that it is looking at the distro provided /etc/fonts/fonts.conf
, because there is a much simpler file /home/jayvdb/snap/zoom-client/194/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf
which is probably the file it should be using.
I am getting similar behavior, after upgrading to Fedora 37. Both on stable and edge.
