Why is there a MaxDuration property needed?

What if I like to generate an audio gram of a 1 hr podcast for uploading it to Youtube's new Podcast platform?
Any reason why I wouldn't set maxDuration to some absurd high number like 99999999999 - just so that it will simply accept any mp3 I throw at it?
