Installing build dependencies on macOS 10.12.3

Are the build dependencies in the README still correct? The qcow packages do not build on macOS 10.12.3:

No changes have been performed
I'm having the same issue.
I have a workaround for this: master...arnested:build-without-opam
I don't think me solution is sustainable because it downloads an already compiled qcow-tool from another project unrelated to qcow.
