Create a Simple Calculator using CoffeeScript

Note: You don't have ask permission to start solving the issue or get assigned, since these issues are supposed to be always open for new contributors. The actions-user bot will reset the file back to previous state for the next contributor after your commit is merged. So you can just simply start working with the issue right away!

How to get started

Navigate to the tasks/coffeescript/medium directory and open the calculator.coffee file.

Description

The objective of this issue is to implement a simple calculator in CoffeeScript that can handle the four basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • The calculator should have functions for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Each function should take two arguments and return the result.
  • Create a separate function to validate the input to make sure they are numbers. If invalid input is provided, throw an error message.

How to run

Make sure you are in the right directory:

cd tasks/coffeescript/medium

Compile the CoffeeScript file to JavaScript:

coffee -c calculator.coffee

Execute the JavaScript File:

node calculator.js

If the output of the tests for the calculator are correct, you are ready to make a pull request!
