Tables always use dark mode

I used to use dark mode but stopped using it. Now my tables are in dark mode (unusable) if I add them.
Not sure if ever using dark mode affects this.
Steps to reproduce
- Add a table to a md file
- See it's in dark mode
Expected behaviour
I expect the table to follow the active color scheme.
