Syntax highlighting fails under mmm-mode

It looks like sass-mode's syntax highlighting is buggy under mmm-mode (invoked in vue-mode). Sometimes the yellow attribute highlighting works, depending on cursor position and if it's the last attribute in the region, but it's usually broken. See below:
