CONFIG_TRIM_UNUSED_KSYMS activation

When activated, CONFIG_TRIM_UNUSED_KSYMS reduces the size of the kernel.
But without any tweaking, the module doesn't compile.
Has anyone tried &/or succeeded tweaking for CONFIG_TRIM_UNUSED_KSYMS activation?
