Three detections on VirusTotal.com

Uncolored-v.0.10.2-win-x64-setup.exe sets off three detections on VirusTotal.com. Worth seeing if that can be eliminated.

Hi @JVimes,
sorry for the delayed answer.

It's very probably because of 2 things :

  • the installers are highly compressed, so lightweight. But I imagine it's harder to read for antivirus softwares, that can be a sign of a Zip bomb for some (pretty bad) antivirus softwares ¯_(ツ)_/¯ . I will do some tests with installers and their settings to have 0 detection on VirusTotal.

  • The app is not signed for Windows and OSX (it can cost...a lot for no reason) sooo maybe for those same pretty bad antivirus softwares or protection softwares, the app is suspicious. Same for Windows SmartScreen shit, on some PCs. I don't know yet if I will spend money for signing (Un)colored. I might, I might not, I will wait and see :)

Thanks a lot for contributing and pointing this out ! 👍

Thanks for the reply! I don't think it's a big deal, but wanted to make sure you knew. Cheers.

Certum has pretty cheap code signing certs for open source devs:

Also Comodo has them for $75 USD:
