image proxy failure: spawn EMFILE and getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND

The image proxy was down briefly (about 2015-03-30 20:15 BST) this evening, giving the errors "spawn EMFILE" (which is familiar from the previous failure, I think) and "getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND", which I guess may also be related to resource exhaustion. I didn't have to restart node, since it just started working again, so presumably the number of open files dropped with slightly lower load?
