Webengage dialogue accessibility issues.

We've had a report back from the DAC on the Savings Calculator. They included the following section regarding the feedback form, which I include below:

The icon to close the questionnaire is very small. This means that someone with mobility issues would not be able to select it due to the very small actionable area.

Happy to make the changes if anyone can point me to the right area. Equally happy for someone else to do it 😜

Further reports from DAC on this feature:

As a vision impaired user with low peripheral vision, I found the location of this feature difficult to notice. The bottom right hand side of the page seldom has functionality and I found myself not noticing this feature. Changing the position to the top of the page, where more navigation and browser controls are positioned will enhance the chance of this feature being used.

The feature itself was difficult to use due to the poor contrast and small function buttons. Buttons such as the ‘x’ and down function are required to be larger for easier access and use.

Additional reports from DAC on this feature:

Keyboard only users cannot access the ‘Hide’ and ‘close’ buttons of the layer that appears on screen. However, they can access the ‘start’ button’. Because users cannot close the layer, it overlaps text on all pages i.e. the accessibility link. This is consistent throughout all browsers.

image

When navigating via the swipe gesture, the layer that appears on screen is highlighted and users cannot progress further down the page unless they toggle the settings or close/hide the layer. This will cause confusion to blind users as when they read the page it will make no sense when the focus jumps straight to the layer without being informed.

When text is resized using the pinch gesture, the layer resizes but does not fit the screen meaning that users cannot see half of the ‘Start’ button. This is consistent in both iOS and Android.

No longer relevant, we don't use WebEngage any longer...
