Creating an eBook

Reflowable eBooks are meant to dynamically place content. This means images you meticulously set to float on the right side of the page, or set to take up the full page height, or to fix alongside a title, will almost never look like they do in the print copy. This is expected. The content is adjusted not only according to your reader's device (e.g., a computer screen, a tablet, a phone, or a kindle e-reader) but also according to the user's preferences (they might prefers to flip pages or scroll down, bigger or smaller font, black background or white, etc.) In order to do all this, you, the author, need give up some control of how things are laid out.

Using Microsoft Word Document

• Create WOrd doc in PMB
• Open file in Microsoft Word, save as docX
• convert TOC to hyperlinks: right-click over TOC, click "Edit Field", Click "Table of Contents..." button (or if it's not visible, Scroll down to "TOC" on the left hand and select it, then it will be visible), check "Use Hyperlinks instead of page numbers" on the right, and click OK.
• optionally use Kindle Create: https://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Create/b?ie=UTF8&node=18292298011 to adjust images (make images small or medium then to have them aligned; or make them large or full)

Previewing with Kindle Previewer

• download kindle preview program: https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/topic/G202131170
• download the "HTML" file (actually it will download a ZIP which is actually an EPUB)
• change the file from ".zip" to ".epub"
• open kindle previewer. file > open ebook. find the epub file you just downloaded
• surf through the pages. try changing the device and font 'n stuff
