Can't run the VS Code extension on Mac M1

Trying to connect to a FA but see an error
It says that dotnet SKD is required for dotnet based functions. Though my function is JS based...
I have installed the .net from here https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download, but no help.
Any ideas on how to fix it?
