Is spectral resynthesis supposed to lag behind the original sample (Input) ?

I noticed that it doesn't seem to be possible to tweak the settings in such a way that the result of spectral resynthesis is layered on top of the original sample. Is it intended this way?
I'm sorry for asking this obnoxiously stupid question. Clearly the plugin is intended to produce DELAY.
