Closing opened buffers

When I make some changes and save them, by default wgrep leaves open buffers where it made changes. This is tolerable if changes were made to only a few files, but when many files are involved (hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands), then the left-over buffers seriously clutter up my buffer listings.
It would be great if wgrep could clean up after itself and close any buffers it opened.
