Automation Tool Hanging

coop1984 opened this issue · comments

For some time through numerous versions I am seeing an issue where the tool will hang on the BIOS download phase for Dell, usually right after it has downloaded some drivers. It will hang forever, and the only way to exit is through Task Manager and start again, where it will then download the BIOS. There is no pattern to this that I can see, it just randomly halts.

With 101 different Dell models it is making it quite difficult to get through all of them! Previously it would sail though all models without any issue. Any ideas?

So I'm not alone. But I have that for any package I try to make. Sometime, it will freeze at the zipping part and nothing can be done beside killing the app.

Having this same problem. Server 2012 R2. Wasn't having this issue on Win10, but was forced by IS to move it to the server. Also seems to run much slower on the server.

It will process some BIOS downloads, then some drivers, but eventually (30-60 min) will freeze while downloading a BIOS package. End Task + restart DAT, it will usually process that same BIOS package fine, just to freeze up later on a different one. Using the latest updated files.

Someone posted a forked he did I think in this thread. I've been using it since no problem.

As for the fact it's slower, check your server setting. There's a good chance process priority is still on background which mean any foreground app have less priority on ressource
