It seems all releases are for Windows only. Hence the .exe file in all releases.

The latest release on GitHub is build for darwin, linux and windows. Would you please try it out and see if it works.

The executables just have the ending .exe. They are build for there respective os. E.g. the linux one is:

$ file plugin.exe 
plugin.exe: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, with debug_info, not stripped
