I think we should go ahead and release 4.2.0. In doing so move to semver (note 4.2.0). Its been quite some time with rc out and I think there would be far more usage if we got rid of rc as that seems never ending. Maven has recently been doing same as lofty goals just haven't happened and the products are stable, same here.

Current diff probably needs reviewed as well from rc3. It is here.

There may be some rational to look back to 4.1 to see overall scope as I'm sure we have long forgotten. What I can say is that we have been using 4.2.rc3 for quite some time in around 2k repos without any issues.

I agree! I will take care of that this week-end.
I recently got a new laptop and I have yet to setup back the gpg, dev tools, etc.

@mathieucarbou Looks like it might not have been completed from staging? Tried to pull and it did not pull latest.

I will verify. I closed the staging and released - all went fine
