[Feature request] [Illustrated] Precision and options with multiple rotations

prkmk opened this issue · comments

More precise & more options

  • Rotation 1 should set seconds (0-60 second timer)
  • Rotation 2 would represent an hour (1-60 minutes)
  • Rotation 3 could set hours (1-12 hours)
  • Rotations 4-n should each account for 12 additional hours

Here's a visualisation:

Hi @prkmk,
Can you describe the problem that this new feature or idea is meant to address?

Generally I like the idea of providing a way to make longer time limits easier to set - however, when I understand your proposal correctly it means we would be unable to set the time limit to something like 1h30 for example.

Therefore, I'd like to understand the problem you are trying to solve before jumping to conclusions.

@marbetschar It would be easier to set smaller more precisely and bigger timers more easily. With the current solution it's impossible to set a timer for, let's say, 32 seconds. Also, it's difficult to set timers like 2:30. Additionally, it's frustrating to set a timer for multiple hours and very difficult to convert minutes to hours.

I didn't mean this would override the little increments, f.ex. 1h30. That functionality should be as it is. Maybe the tiny increments could vary based on the current rotation.
