Option to enable / disable automatic updates to the application, plugins (scrapers) when the program is launched.
And an option to check for updates manually when automatic is disabled.

Or in a simple way, A checkbox to enable / disable to search for updates on app launch. And a button to check for updates manually.
Do you mean the "Enable new content checker" already existing in the settings ?
