Question about interacting wtih files

Apologize in advance if this is mentioned somewhere.
Do any of the functions in this module allow you to retrieve an individual file from a repo? I can't seem to find one that does.
No... this is not repo related module.... I was concentrating on build. I use git for repo stuff.
